beautiful views and nice experiences for weekend explorers
The only downside was the minor inconvenience of our bathroom flooding unexpectedly, but the staff were accommodating throughout our stay.

I loved everything: the staff, the Souto Moura interpretation, having dinner in a 800-year old room, the food, the huge fireplace where you can curl up with a book, the lovely surroundings, the church nearby and the the easy access to all Peneda-Geres.

Peaceful hotel located in a very nice area close to the local National Park, the restaurants and the city centre. A good choice of nice food. Stunning and beautiful location, 5 minutes' walk to Nossa Senhora da Abadia. Honestly no complaint.

For me it was magic to stay in such a place. In an old monestery, well kept, calm, good service, pool, on the countryside, beautiful rooms with an oldstylish balcony. We didn't travel by car, although it was very easy to find our way by bus. It takes 50 min from Braga and the bus stops just outside the Pousada. The employees speaks good english.
If it had cost less I would have stayed longer. Beeing in Portugal I thought we just had to visit a Pousada at least once.

Dining in a historical treasure
Staying at Pousada Mosteiro De Amares was a dream come true! The fine architecture and beautiful interiors gave me a glimpse into history while enjoying modern comforts. Dinner was a culinary delight, expertly serviced by warm, friendly staff who enhanced our experience. I'll never forget basking in the tranquil atmosphere and gazing out at amazing nature views during breakfast. Truly a amazing stay!
While the charm of the place is undeniable, I did notice that the soundproofing could be improved. I often heard plumbing noises from neighboring rooms, which slightly disrupted the serene ambiance. A quieter night would have made it all the more enjoyable as I tried to relax.

The fine architecture and serene surroundings create a calming environment.
Noise from the street at night can disrupt sleep, as the windows don't effectively block outside sounds.

Staying in this unique place was a dream come true for our family of seven. We explored the nearby trails in the amazing Peneda Gerês National Park, enjoyed cozy evenings by the fireplace, and relished the good breakfasts. The staff's friendliness added to our nice stay.
For dads, it would be great if the dining area was quieter.

I had an amazing 4-night stay in a fine Family Room, soaking in the 12th-century monastery vibe! The dining experience was captivating, especially in the beautifully restored kitchen. The food was out of this world. Though the bar could use more varied service, I'd go back in a heartbeat!
